Jeff Cylwik
Born in Santa Ana, California - Age 25
Current Residence - Anaheim California
Jeff grew up in Irvine, California and is the
product of a well to do but strict family. Jeff once said "I am an observer
of all that is around me." This is never more true when he
brings to us a magnificent photo of
an image we may take for granted. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his
photos, he will often shoot an entire memory card to get the right time of
the sunset for the colors in the sky. Mostly a landscape and time
lapse photographer he is expanding into the black and white photos.
Inspired by a friend to bring in more human aspects to his art, he is currently
preparing for shooting b/w portraits. He is striving for a balanced
portfolio containing action, still life, landscapes, modified and extreme
close up.
He
has been shooting photos since he was twelve
years old. "I have all my older film photos in boxes in my studio.
It is fun to look back over them now and then and see how far I have matured
as a photographer," Jeff told us in an interview. However since the advent of digital photography he has been
able to share with the friends from near and far some of his many photos. Jeff feels that life
should be about experiences and those experiences should be shared
with as many people as possible. This is why he posts so many of his
quality photos online. For every photo taken by him there are 10-20 other photos of the
same subject at different angles and lighting conditions until he gets it
perfect. It is not uncommon to go out for 4 hours of shooting photos
and take more than 400 images. Each one painstakingly looked over for
quality and capture of the subject in his studio in Anaheim California.
Recently has has shot at Yosemite,
San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Los Angeles, San Diego and
many other places. Traveling is one part of the job that has always
brought added excitement to the job of a photographer. Jeff told us
"It just doesn't feel like you are getting far enough away from your life if
you drive there." However flying to destinations for a good photo has
never stood in his way of finding a good impression. Jeff has shown
that he can find a photo in the most unusual places. All it takes is a
keen eye and a sense of imagination for Jeff to be able to find the beauty
in any object.
Ever
since using the family camera when he was little and shooting nature photos
out camping, Jeff has enjoyed being behind the lens. Back in high
school Jeff mentioned that he was feeling that there were moments that
should be shared with everyone. From the sunset over the hills of
Irvine and Mission Viejo to a sunrise over the Santa Barbara bluffs, certain
things need to be distributed to all those who aren't awake for the sunrise
or are too busy in evening traffic to appreciate the sunsets. "It all started out with just sharing some
photos online and ballooned into this whole website. I never expected
things to get this big." While always holding on to his humble
beginnings, Jeff is always growing in his portfolio and repertoire of skills
he brings to the table. Jeff is proud to provide works that inspire
awe and wonder and delighted to be able to share his passion with others via
