Welcome to Cinematic Photos! We would like to congratulate you on
your recent celebration! We here at Cinematic Photos want to help
ensure a worry free event day. We can help you choose a photo
package tailored to your needs and budget. If we can not help you with
our packages maybe we can shed some light on the professional photo industry so
that you won't be taken advantage of by other photographers.
Cinematic Photos has been involved with event and wedding photography
for years and would like to offer our services to you on your special day to
capture all those memories. We pride ourselves on our customized
packages that will leave you worried about what your best man or
maid of honor will say before dinner than at how much the wedding is going
to cost you.
How many hours should you pay for?
Estimate how long it is going to take you to get prepared during the day
for the wedding (getting dressed, makeup, flowers, and the inevitable fun)
add to it your ceremony time and then your fully reserved time for the
reception. That is about how long it should take for a well done
documenting of this once in a lifetime event. Talk with Cinematic
Photos for a consult and we can approximate how long you should hire a
photographer for your wedding.
Per hour cost for a photographer and equipment:: Single
shooter vs. Dual shooters
Rule of thumb is to have $100 per hour per photographer for a decent job.
This may or may not include editing so be sure to ask your photographer.
A second shooter can get the reactions of your family while you say your
vows, or get the photos of the cake while the receiving line takes place.
It is wise to have a 2nd camera if you want to see the whole day and others
had fun during your celebration. Cinematic Photos prices vary
depending on the services requested and availability of photographers for
your wedding.
Edited Image Disc vs. Original Negative Disc
Most
reputable photographers will do a limited amount of editing for your wedding day
to ensure you look your best despite all the running around you had to do or
the blemish on your cheek from stress. Be fair warned that editing may
cost more but it may just be worth it for 10 or so photos
to come out perfect. You can then send these photos to
your family and friends. Original negatives lets you edit the photos
yourself. The advantage is that the photographer has been doing this
for a long time is well skilled and can take their time to edit the photos
instead of yours. Not to mention the fact that the costly industry
standard Adobe Photoshop costs upwards of $500 dollars for a license.
Cinematic Photos offers both edited image disc and original negatives
depending on the requirements of the client.
Photography Styles:: Portrait vs. Journalistic
The standard posed photo is typically talked about as a portrait. The
bride and groom, family photos and any other photos taken before or directly
after the wedding in a set place with certain poses are called portraiture
style. Any photos of the happy day while the bridesmaids are getting
ready, the groomsmen goofing around or the reception would be classified as
journalistic. Journalistic photographers take photos of the action
while portraiture photographers take still life. A good photographer
can do both, versatile enough to take the beautiful stand out shots and
capture your aunt Betty dancing to YMCA on the hardwood floor.
Cinematic Photos has the ability to do both styles with all their
photographers.
RAW vs.
JPEG images
On a related note to the above, RAW images are the highest quality images
that a professional camera can take. They occupy 4x as much space on a
memory card than a traditional JPEG image. For reprinting images as
large as 16x20 a 8mega pixel camera will do just any photo justice.
RAW images are for commercial professional archiving and reproduction.
Cinematic Photos shoots the majority of their work in JPEG, however for the
additional cost at request of the client we can shoot in RAW but do not
recommend it.
